I finally mustered something in me to try out cosmetics from 3CE during my recent trip to Korea.

I’ve been following the brand on Instagram for years, seen how gorgeous the models look all the time, heard people raving about the brand too often to keep track, yet I never felt motivated enough to try them out. Why? I don’t know either. But this time round, I decided to lay my curiosity to rest once and for all.

I went to the Stylenanda hotel in Myeongdong (my second time there). Again I don’t know why but I didn’t feel very encouraged to shop for anything there even though I was already inside. I could get very excited inside an Aritaum store, but the 3CE products just didn’t look as inviting as I thought.

Besides a Mood Recipe Matte Lip Colour Lipstick, I sampled other products and found myself gravitating towards the concealers.

Product Description

This product provides a smooth and creamy texture making it easier to blend well into the skin even with just the touch of your fingers. It provides a natural coverage which makes it a great option for everyday use.

Also, it can work two ways – whether you want to highlight the high parts of your face to appear more put-together and polished or when you just want to get through the day by concealing the dark circles under your eyes after a hard night of partying.

The product is formulated using sebum-controlling technology which helps you stay fresh despite being in the middle of humid environments.

Official Retail Price in Singapore: SGD 27 (Sephora)

Review

Although I don’t think I’m very fair (I usually go for 21), I bought #001. I wanted the concealer to brighten my complexion as well, especially my dark eye circles.

The concealer is quite creamy but applies very smoothly on the face with a rather clean applicator. It spreads out evenly without being streaky or overly oily.

I also love the coverage this concealer gives. They’re definitely not exaggerating when they call it ‘full cover’. The coverage is so good that it can cover red acne spots on my skin and stray eyebrow hairs really well, which my Etude concealer wasn’t able to. It also doesn’t look unnatural such that people can see that you piled on many layers of concealer to cover blemishes.

What’s even better is that the coverage is really, really long-lasting. At the end of a workday, there is almost no sign of oxidation.

Final Verdict

Concealer is a staple in my makeup routine, but I’ve always struggled to find one that I really like or is truly effective.

After I used this, not anymore.

High quality does come with a price, however. I think SGD 27 is not a small amount to fork out for concealer, but I’ll say that this is a worthy investment in the long run, because it saves you the trouble of having to find something better than this.

I’m definitely repurchasing this once it runs out (doesn’t look like it’s anytime soon… I hope).
