I recently got really addicted to blushes because I think they add a very lovely flush to the face, so I had been eyeing these blushes for some time after seeing on Instagram (oops). When I went to Korea and saw that these were going for 1+1 (basically buy 1 get 1 free), I knew it was the right time to finally get my hands on these.

Simple, compact, and easy to carry around – scores on all grounds!

Colour

Sunny Afternoon is a slightly darker, more reddish shade with speckles of gold glitter, while My Candyshop is a peachy/apricot flush. I love using Sunny Afternoon when I want a more intense look – let’s say if I know that I will be having photographs of myself taken/wefies etc. and I want my makeup to actually show up in the photos. However, I would say that My Candyshop is probably more suitable for daily, natural makeup looks because it makes you look like you have a healthy flush.

Both are very healthy and vibrant colours that work great with those who have warm undertones, and should fit most Asian skin tones!

Colour payoff & intensity

My Candyshop’s payoff is not that good, so for those of you who do not have very fair skin (me included) you have to apply at least 2 or 3 layers for some colour to show up.

Sunny Afternoon is much better in terms of payoff though, but be careful not to apply too much at one go because you may end up with super rosy and glittery cheeks. Maybe not so much a bad thing if you are going for a photoshoot, but it’s not something you want to sport at school.

Staying power

I haven’t found any need to touch up on my blush, and I still do see a fair bit of the blush even after a long day, so I think it’s safe to say that these work great even for the days where you are out for more than 12 hours.

Final Verdict

At around SGD6 per blush (I got this for less), I think this is really worth the money. It’s got a good range of beautiful colours for you to choose from, whether you have warm or cool undertones, fair or tan skin; its colour intensity is pretty decent for a Korean brand, and it stays on for as long as you need it to.

I think this could even double up as eyeshadow because the colours are really gorgeous and there’s little fallout, which makes this an even better choice if you are looking for an affordable blush.

I really want to buy more shades of this because it’s so good, and I think I would probably even bump it up to be my favourite blush of all time because it’s just so good.

The only issue I have with this is that my skin is quite ‘bumpy’ from acne, so it makes those pesky pimples look a little more obvious than I would like, but that’s just really a personal skin issue that happens with all powder blushes.
