If I were to lay out all my eyeshadows, it would be no surprise that the brand that I seem to love the most for this makeup product is Etude. I have bought many of their palettes for the colour range & affordable prices, although initially I really disliked the terrible colour payoff.
Then something happened in around 2017/2018. It was as though someone at HQ got the idea to make better quality eyeshadow. I believe it started getting better since the Play Color Eyes #In The Cafe palette, and then it just kept getting better!
I was impressed by the quality that I even went on to buy their single pots. And let me tell you, these ended up even better than the palettes!

Review
Packaging
There’s nothing much to be in awe of, but I appreciate the simple and reliable packaging. I like that I can just pop a few basic colours into my pouch and not have to lug a full palette along if I’m travelling.
Colour
The first colour I got was RD307, a purple-red shade. It was one of the items in my No Make No Life box that I actually liked, even though I was a little apprehensive that I would end up looking like I had a black eye instead.
Few months later I went to Korea and bought BR415, a warm brown that has been one of my absolute favourite shades to work with. You don’t even need to use other shades – just blend this for an ombre eye look and you’re all set to go.
They also had a few other brown shades that I really like but didn’t get around to buying, so I’ll KIV for future purchases!
Staying power
I stopped using eyeshadow primer since a long time ago and my oily lids betray me all the time, so any eyeshadow I use should at least try to hold up most of the colour for at least 10 hours on a workday.
The Look at My Eyes eyeshadows actually do a pretty decent job when it comes to their staying power, so at the end of the day I can still see that there’s a considerable amount of colour on my lids,
Final Verdict
I don’t know what Etude has been doing to their eyeshadows, but I really love the formula improvements and beautiful shades they currently offer.
That being said, these eyeshadows were a lot cheaper in Korea (if my memory didn’t fail me), and they are a little more expensive overseas.
Of course, paying around SGD 10 for one really good + long-lasting eyeshadow pot can also be considered a good investment!
