Etude House jumped on board this ship a little late as compared to their counterparts, but nonetheless, it was heavily promoted some time back (before their more recent ones like My Dear Darling Water Gel Tint) by Pony, so I thought I ought to give this a try.

Initially, I wanted to get the mint/blue combination because I had acne problems, but I was convinced by the sales guy to take the yellow/peach orange one instead because my acne wasn’t that serious, and I wanted to tackle my perpetual dark eye circles that even my BB cream cannot conceal.

This is as recommended on Etude House’s web page:

Use the peach tone on dark circle areas and yellow color on dull skin areas to brighten skin tone.  

Use the mint color on reddish areas of the face and blue color on uneven skin tone areas.

Use lavender color on dark areas and pink color to brighten skin tone.

I followed as recommended. However, I did not see a significant improvement in my dark eye circles despite applying a few layers of peach. They did look slightly less sunken and dark, but not as effective as, say, a normal skin-toned concealer.

The yellow colour, though, was a pleasant surprise. It did help to brighten my skin especially in areas where I have a few dark spots, and you can even use it as a highlighter! I use it on my nose bridge and cheekbones, and the results are rather decent. It’s not super reflective, but it gives a nice glow without looking like your face is oily.

Final Verdict

I have yet to try the other colour combinations, but based on my experience with the peach orange & yellow one, I highly doubt that I will be making a repurchase of this product line, and neither will I recommend this product, which is a pity because I enjoy using most of Etude House’s makeup line (besides the lip products).

The colour thing does not always work well, especially if your skin tends to be very unevenly-coloured. The price is also a bit pricier than expected from Etude House, probably because it’s a new product and has duo colours.

I think I might stick to concealer that matches my skin tone instead, as that is a lot more effective in blanketing most of my skin problems.
