While sheet masks have been an integral part of my skincare routine for years, it was only recently that facial mists became a big part of my life.
And I mean really big part: I spray them every couple of hours – sometimes because my skin feels dehydrated, sometimes because I just need a way to stay awake LOL.
I have tried putting toners in spray bottles before, but I still find that the most effective ones (for me, at least) are usually products specially meant to be spray mists. I think the formulation might be different, I’m not too sure – please enlighten me if you know!

Official Retail Price in Singapore: SGD 56 (Shopee, Lazada)

Ingredient List
Anthemis Nobilis Flower Water , Butylene Glycol (Aqua 3G), Aristotelia Chilensis Fruit Extract, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Propanediol, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Glyceryl Glucoside, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract (Baikal Skullcap), Pelargonium Graveolens Oil, Panthenol, Pantolactone, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Allantoin, Citric Acid, Betaine, CI 42090, CI 16185
As stated in the product description, unlike other facial mists where water makes up the bulk, there is no trace of it in the ingredient list.
Instead, what we have here is Aqua 3G, which “contains this unique ingredient called glyceryl-glucoside… an active compound of aquaporin found at Yuselin Skin Research Center, extracted from the algae that retain moisture even in extremely dry environments”.
But I also realised that this Aqua 3G is Butylene Glycol, an alcohol that some experts warn against using. I would suggest doing a patch test for this first if you have sensitive skin.
Some other products which may not be great for acne-prone skin include Pelargonium Graveolens Oil and Citric Acid.

Packaging
While this is one of the biggest facial mists I currently have on my shelf, it is also one of my favourites. The matte millennial-pink packaging looks really great, doesn’t it?
The spray nozzle packs quite a punch so you get a lot of product coming at one go – not so much the fine mist that some other products have. I don’t mind it because the more the merrier for me, but it may mess up your makeup a little if you’re spraying this over your foundation or non-waterproof eyeliner.
Effectiveness
Here’s what this product is meant to do (as copied from the website):
Dew Potion is specially designed to be your perfect glowing healthy skin companion – whether you’re on vacay or at the office.
Dew Potion also functions as a great refresher for makeup, it gently distributes the skin-soothing potion evenly on the skin without smudging makeup and can be applied to makeup sponges, prior to application of makeup.
Dehydrated skin is nourished and irritated skin is calmed. Spritz liberally throughout the day for an instant refreshing sensation and a healthy, supple and dewier look in seconds.
I totally agree that this essence/facial mist is perfect for hydrating your skin – in fact, this has been a lighter alternative to moisturisers for me, and my skin enjoys the serum + facial mist combo more than I had expected.
I think you’ll see the true extent of Dew Potion’s hydrating effect when you’re stuck in a dry air-conditioned room for hours and feel like your skin is peeling. It’s wonderful to feel the essence being absorbed by your skin without the oily/sticky texture of thick moisturisers!
I’m not too keen on the part about makeup though. I don’t think it works on me because I have oily skin and my makeup slides off easily as a result of the oil – spritzing liquid at my makeup is just never a fantastic idea for me unless the mist is very fine.
Sigi Skin’s Dew Potion also claims to soothe irritated skin and reduce skin inflammation, but I haven’t really seen this effect yet. It’s a little harder to prove, but I’m currently using it to keep my retinol purging under control – so far, not too bad.
Final Verdict
I know Dew Potion is much more expensive compared to other facial mists in the market, but if you consider the fact that I’ve been using this for months and I’m not even one-fifth through this bottle, you can probably make this last for a year (or more!).
That being said, take note that I’m writing from the POV of someone with oily and acne-prone skin. I often do away with moisturisers because my skin gets clogged easily, especially in Singapore’s humid weather, so I favour products that are lighter in the texture but sufficiently hydrating for most skin types.
I’m not sure if this will work for you if you have very dry skin, but suffice to say that this will win the hearts of those who struggle with oily but dehydrated skin.
