Beauty junkies would surely have heard of CORSX’s acne patches before. It’s most probably the first product that got most people interested in the K-beauty brand – at least, that was how it was for me!
Over the past few years, I’ve been looking to see if other acne patches can work as well, if not better, than COSRX’s holy grail patches.
Nexcare has been pretty good but it wasn’t always amazing all the time; Acropass was kind of meh despite the interesting microneedles. Even COSRX doesn’t really work for me all the time, and frankly it’s not very cheap here in Singapore (original price is SGD 5.90 for 24 pieces).
Surprisingly, one product that has consistently worked for me is actually Olive Young’s Care Plus Scar Cover Spot Patch. I bought these in Korea because I needed to hit a minimum order, but ended up falling in love with these forever LOL.
Product Description
Has a thin edge for better adhesion
An excellent stick-on patch that lasts longer
A transparent patch that can be easily covered up
A water-resistant patch
You can easily take the patch off because of the cutting film
Official Retail Price in Singapore: SGD 6.50 (Shopee, Lazada, Amazon)
Ingredient List
Hydrocolloid Adhesive, Silicone coated PET film, Polyurethane film
I don’t actually know if this is really the full ingredient list.
However, since the product never promised acne-tackling ingredients such as salicylic acid or tea tree, I guess this could be pretty accurate.

Packaging
I think this cutting film technology that Olive Young boasts about here is actually pretty common (I’ve seen it with other acne patches), but there’s no denying that it’s pretty convenient and makes it easier to take off + probably more hygienic as well.
I’m also very happy with the fact that you get 84 stickers here in 2 different sizes – it’s a superbly good deal, considering that I use these pretty often when I have pesky zits that don’t immediately disappear after one day.
Effectiveness

Sorry for the gross photo, but I felt that this would be better at showing exactly how effective Olive Young’s acne patch is.
I know it doesn’t look very impressive because there’s not much pus that’s been absorbed, but I used this on a zit that’s been active for about 2 days and only pasted this for less than 5 hours – so you can imagine how much more pus there was when I previously pasted a patch on for almost 9 hours!
After using 2 pimple patches on the same zit, it has almost completely disappeared – what more can I say?
Final Verdict
I’ve been singing praises about Olive Young’s Care Plus Scar Cover Spot Patch to a lot of people because I really think this is much more effective and true value-for-money.
The only gripe I have with this pimple patch is that it’s pretty sticky. Granted, they made it stickier so that you don’t have to deal with pimple patches dropping all over the place (happened to me with COSRX urgh), but it also feels kind of icky when you remove it.
The good thing is that the glue (?) comes off easily though – just remember to cleanse your face in the morning, and all will be well.
