You might have already heard rave reviews about the Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder from beauty bloggers and Youtubers.
I admit: I was pretty late to the game. I only heard about this from my friend after I told her that I was looking to buy a setting powder. I saw this selling on Althea for pretty cheap, so I thought I might as well give this a go.
Product Description
This sebum control powder is designed to portray a soft and powdery complexion.

P.S. I purchased and reviewed this while it was still in the old packaging!

Review
I’ve heard of friends who don’t use setting powder, and I used to resist the idea of using it too because I wanted to preserve the ‘dewy’ (now when I think about it, it was probably just oily) look of my skin after I applied BB cream.
After using this, I’ve totally changed my mind.
My skin tends to get really oily as the day progresses, so I used to bring around oil blotting paper. Unfortunately, it is not exactly cheap. I also often ended up wiping off my makeup at the same time which meant reapplication again and again. The inconvenience was terribly irksome!
However, Innisfree’s powder serves not just as a makeup setting powder, but also as an oil-blotting powder. When I see/feel my skin getting oily, I’ll powder the oily areas and ta-da, fresh again!
You don’t have to worry about looking overly-powdered either because the powder is translucent, giving your face a matte look without looking cakey. I think this oil-blotting function has helped to control my acne problem quite a fair bit as well.
I’ve also used this powder to make my lip products look matte and last longer. It works really well, without making my lips feel overly dried out. I suppose it does that to your face also by making it matte for long without drying it out.
Final Verdict
I’m in love with this product so much that I haven’t tried another setting powder. In fact, I bought 3 more of these in Korea’s Innisfree because they were selling these at just 3000 won each!
I don’t always trust online reviews that call products ‘holy grail’ items, but this is one that I’ve been thoroughly sold by. I’m not looking to change my powder anytime soon because one ‘box’ can actually last me for a few months, and partly also because this smells very nice, sort of like talcum powder?
In any case, I see no reason to change from something as effective and affordable as this.
